This Privacy Policy explains how Profe.me collects, uses, stores, and protects personal data.

Profe.me is operated by an individual and not by a registered company.

We may collect the following personal data when tutors create or edit a public profile on Profe.me:

• name;
• profile photo;
• professional title or description;
• subjects, languages, prices, availability, and teaching preferences;
• contact information, such as phone number, email address, WhatsApp, Telegram, or other contact links;
• external booking links, such as Calendly, Google Calendar, or similar services;
• any other information voluntarily included in the tutor profile.

We may also collect technical information necessary to operate and secure the website, such as server logs, IP address, device/browser information, timestamps, and error logs.

Profe.me does not currently process payments and does not collect payment card details.

3. How we use personal data

We process personal data for the following purposes:

• to create, display, and manage tutor profile pages;
• to allow tutors to share their profile with potential students;
• to display tutor profiles publicly on Profe.me;
• to include public tutor profile information in tutor listings, search results, category pages, and other discovery features;
• to operate, maintain, debug, and improve the website;
• to prevent abuse, spam, fraud, or misuse of the website;
• to respond to user messages, requests, or legal inquiries;
• to comply with applicable legal obligations.

4. Legal basis for processing

We process personal data based on one or more of the following legal bases:

• performance of a service requested by the user, when we use data to create and display a tutor profile;
• consent, when users voluntarily submit information to be published on their profile;
• legitimate interests, such as maintaining website security, preventing abuse, and improving the service;
• legal obligation, when processing is necessary to comply with applicable laws.

5. Public tutor profiles

Information included in a tutor profile may be publicly visible on the internet. Public tutor profile information may appear not only on the tutor’s individual profile page, but also in tutor listings, search results, category pages, and other discovery features on Profe.me.

Tutors should not include information in their profile that they do not want to be public. Tutors are responsible for ensuring that the information they publish is accurate, lawful, and does not infringe the rights of third parties.

6. External links and third-party services

Tutor profiles may contain links to third-party websites or services, such as booking tools, messaging apps, or social media profiles.

When users click those links, they leave Profe.me. The processing of personal data by those third-party services is governed by their own privacy policies and terms.

Profe.me is not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party websites or services.

7. Service providers

We may use third-party service providers to host, store, maintain, or secure the website, such as hosting providers, database providers, storage providers, or email providers.

These providers may process personal data only as necessary to provide their services to Profe.me.

Tutor profile data is kept while the profile remains active. If a tutor asks us to delete their profile, we will delete or anonymise the relevant personal data within a reasonable period, unless we need to keep certain information for legal, security, or dispute-resolution purposes.

Technical logs are kept only for as long as reasonably necessary for security, debugging, and website operation.

10. Data security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure.

However, no online service can guarantee absolute security.

Profe.me is not intended for children. Users should not create a tutor profile or submit personal data if they are not legally able to use the service.

Profe.me does not currently use cookies for analytics, advertising, or tracking purposes.
